In 2026, school Open Days in Lagos are governed by a harmonized academic calendar that designates specific dates for public and private primary and secondary schools to open their doors to parents.

Mandatory 2026 Open Day Schedule 

According to the Lagos State Government 2025/2026 academic calendar, all schools are required to observe the following dates:

• Second Term (Term 2):
  • Primary Schools: Thursday, February 19, 2026.
  • Secondary Schools: Friday, February 20, 2026.
• Third Term (Term 3):
  • Primary Schools: Wednesday, June 10, 2026.
  • Secondary Schools: Thursday, June 11, 2026. 

Note: While the date is mandatory, the specific timing is at the discretion of individual school administrations. 

Featured Admissions & Specialized Open Days

Many private and international schools hold additional recruitment-focused events for the 2026 intake:

• The FATE School (Entrepreneurship): Hosting an Open Day on February 5, 2026, starting at 9:00 AM at the FATE Foundation Launchpad in Ilupeju.
• British International School (BIS) Lagos: Entrance examinations for the 2026 session are scheduled for February 14, 2026, with campus tours often available by contacting the Registrar’s Office.
